We've got some Aluminium Patio doors that don't seem to roll properly and need the weather strips replaced - you know, the 80's variety with 2 doors and large panes of glass.

I have no idea where to start on this and was hoping for some PH help on the matter.

Where can I get replacement rollers/weatherstrips from, and are they easy to DIY?

Cheers

You'll struggle with spares for the rollers - but if you get the doors out of the tracks and really clean everything up and grease the wheels it might last a few more years.

I found a lot of american specific sites when I googled. If you found something that might be useful, appreciate if you could point me to it. Ta!

Actually, that is another question. How do I get the doors out? Some of the american specific sites suggest there are adjusting screws on each end of each door which push the roller back in the door, giving you more space to lift the door out. Is it the same for these?

Also, apparently the weatherstripping can't be changed as it's installed when the doors are made and it's non removable. hmm

Is it worth repairing them? Mine are of the same era and long overdue replacement.
