Anyone got a recipe for spicy chicken wings (the USA variety)?

Cheers. BB.

Dunno what you mean by the USA variety but when I make these for the barbecue I just make up my own rub. It usually comprises of the following:

- Chilli flakes
- Chilli powder
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
- Cayenne Pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion granule things

Bash it all up in a mortar and pestle, soak the wings in milk for a bit then coat liberally with the rub.

Either barbecue or cook in the oven at bd hot degrees c until crispy.

You could, if you want, bastardise some shop bought bbq sauce with extra chilli and stuff if you want sticky wings.

Not a recipe per se but, get hold of some Franks Buffalo wing sauce and liberally apply after roasting the wings for 30 mins on a high temp in a small ammount of oil and salt. I swear they are the same as the ones in the Hard Rock Cafe. Have them with a blue cheese dip made from stilton, sour cream, cream cheese and a squeeze of lime.

Going to give this one a go tonight.
I presume that after roasting you baste the wings in Franks sauce and bob back in the oven for 5 mins or so?

Nope, just get the wings out and drain off the fat and toss in the wing sauce and eat. I found they went too dry if you cooked them with the sauce. I think you can mix the sauce with melted butter to make it richer if you like, but i've never tried it. Just make sure the wings are nice and golden. You can deep fry them if you have a fryer.

Excellent. Thanks for advice. I've bought the Franks Red Hot origional sauce. I hope it doesn't blow my wifes socks off!

The hot sauce is good, but try the buffalo wing one for the full experience!! I tried their sweet chilli one recently which was also excellent.

Just eaten them, cooked as recipe, with salad of rocket, red peppers, red onion, and dressing. The wings were top notch...loved them.
Thanks!

Yes mate. I get a roast chicken and a big box of wings on sundays. They're the best around IMO.
