Are there any pros or cons for each? We need something to stop a child's bedroom getting too cold overnight and connectors are far cheaper...

Convector heaters are cheaper but cost more to run than oil-filled radiators. Mind , by how much cheaper I do not know. The oil is supposed to retain the heat, thus more heat for less 'electrickery. I would also add; oil filled should be safer too, though with either (in a child's room) should be fastened to a wall so unable to be tipped over. I would also add some sort of guard to prevent anything being left on top of the heater.

They both cost the same to run, hence it doesn't matter which you use.

The oil filled unit has a slower response time if that makes any difference.

Cheers. I got a 3kW connector in Costco for £30, oil filled fads are 3 times that online.
