out riggers again
Discussion
has anyone tried repairing thier outriggers themselves and did you lower the chassis off the body by a small amount or did you repair with the body still on and how did you do it please, as i have a small repair to do to mine , and if you did it with the body still on how did you keep the heat away from the body, ,,,,i would try joolspeed for the repair as he does it in situ but they are too far away for me, any info please...
150 quid dont sound too bad , but i'd like to know how they keep the heat from the body. its not holed yet but it aint far off. cutting the bodywork sounds a bit extreme and could lead to more problems trying to repair that bit , but its an idea and taking the body off is the last resort for what is a small repair, i'd like to know how jools does it .
I used C&G coachworks in Horam near heathfield e sussex, Clive the owner is a top bloke, this firm are used by Dream Machines so they must be good, 01435 810061 is the number.
I'm sure the cost depends on what your car needs, mine had flaky paint on the outer sills but metal wise was fine, they took the chassis back to bare metal, resprayed it and then waxoyled it (although it looks like bitumen compared!) on the oter bits, the inner sections were fine as the engine heat keeps rust at bay, should be good for another five years methinks without touching again!
I mentioned the cash in hand type question and that was the figure he came to, although I could have got it maybe cheaper than that but when I picked the car up and he mentioned 120 quid I did not have the quickness of mind to accept that.....doh!!
