A1M lane closed causing 1/2 mile of traffic and growing. For what? Emergency repairs, crash, serious incident...... Nope, a dead badger!!! Seriously WTF.

It would kill my splitter and no doubt cause accidents if people were braking hard to avoid, probably the right thing to do smile

It was in the middle of a two lane carrigeway on the White line. One or two big rigs an it wouldn't be such a big obstacle smile

We live in a litigious society, that's the reason.

You don't think it's slight overkill?

Perhaps if someone had used their brain a way would have been figured out for a policeman/badger sympathiser to jump out of

a slow moving vehicle and drag the roadkill to the embankment?

Pathetic.A symptom of society today unfortunately.

Yep, people more worried about a bit of progress to their destination than risk to others.

And if my VX220 had hit it at 70mph, it would probably have been written off.

Oh, I don't know...they'd probably have to have a meeting and fill-out another 50 pages of H&S paperwork first. rolleyes

I understand that the corpse needed to be moved as it could well cause an accident as badger lovers would swerve and cause a crash before running over there beloved fur ball.
I just thought two womble 4x4's and a 7.5 tonne truck with flashing lights plus the whole lane shut off was a bit ott.

Dont hit it then. Look through that clear "screen" in front of the steering wheel and dont rely on H&S regulations for everything.
Its more hassle and danger to more people errecting lane closures. thats the point.
Drag the fking thing off the road and leave it. Foxes will love itsmile

It would have been much better to rolling road block and drag it off the road, but that would be someone elses job who was miles away.

1) There is a risk before it's picked up &
2) There is a risk to those who have to pick it up & those rushing towards them too.
