Really enjoyed my Goodyear (F1 GSD3's)

Disappointed by previous Michelin (Primacy HP)

+1 on both those.

OP the question is not really possible to answer, as in any brand there will be good and not so good tyres when compared to others from other brands. IMO.

Which brand of tyres are best ..... For what?

Love the Vredstiens on my 156, better than the CSC3 and 2s that preceded them, although I am also lovin the new Yokohama AD08s on the Duetto (Alfaholics 15" GTA reps)... gloriously sticky, haven't slid the tail out yet smile

rofl Bit of a ridiculous question, are you 10 years old? The 'best' tyres for a particular application could be anything, no one brand is the 'best'.

Think it's more of a rubber fetish laugh, was musing on Vredesteins the other day, run flats before that, what next?

They are very good, but not every car in every use profile. But wait, where were these recent Evo tyre tests performed? (i.e. whose facility?). I bet you can guess...

Horses for courses!
All tyres are intended for a specific application, or make massive compromises! Select according to weight of vehicle, power, suspension setup, type of road, weather condition and the driving style you intend to use.
There is no 'Universal' tyre... End of!

He's obviously meaning it in a general way.

So who make some of the absolute best tyres? Continental and Michelin.

Conti have won pretty much every test in every magazine in every tyre category this year, whether at the Contidrome or not.

Continental ARE the best tyre manufacturer for passenger vehicle tyres in 2010.

Which makes me feel very smug after parting with £850 this morning to the Event man smile

On the subject of which - he had some tyres in the back of his van that he'd taken off a 911 this morning - totally utterly bald yikes Who the hell runs a car like that on such fooked tyres?

Over here in Malta our roads are crap, the tarmac is like glass and we have potholes galore, so my choice after trying Michelin, firestone and goodyear are TOYO PROXES, softer rubber and excellent in the wet not that its wet very often. smile
