Very close to commiting to an MX5, however I want to be fully armed with all the info before I go hunting smile

Ideally I want a 'sport' model with the Eibach kit fitted.

I'm I right in thinking that that the 'sport' will come with Bilstein shocks & standard springs?

If so, how much I'm I looking at to upgrade to Eibach?

Also, what would make more or a difference, Eibach with standard geo or standard springs with uprated geo?

I can live with the 4x4 look but I can't live with iffy handling!

Don't bother upgrading, hold out for a 'sport', they also have other extras that make it worthwhile, normally heated leather seats, electric everything, and stiffer chassis, etc.

Worth every extra penny, you won't regret it.

This. Just collected a 07 2.0 Sport and it's great. Paid £8250 from a dealer, 43,000 miles.

Good price.

Did you find them eager to do a deal or where they quite happy to let you go if you didn't meet the price?

Yes but you've missed his point. The Sport has Billies but not Eibachs.

300 quid will get you Eibachs and a geo which will massively improve the handling and make the car look 10x better.

It was originally up at £8995. Had been reduced to £8440, then got it for the £8250. It had been with them since August so they were keen for the deal. We realised that it was a v good price.

Also has the Bose and Climate option which we were looking for.

V happy!

Very jealous!

Unfortunately I'm going to have to do my car buying over the 'net as I'm out of the country and my car is currently SORN'd!

Good luck. If you have any questions in the meantime, just get in touch.

Yes, but the sport doesn't just have better suspension, it has lots of other better things too. My point was, if you're in the market, start with a sport, and make it better, rather than starting with a base model. Can't polish a turd and all that.

Quite. But the upgrade in the OP's case was from a Sport to a Sport with Eibach springs. You dig?! wink
