Driving into Chelsea this morning and experienced the same situation twice in 5 minutes....

Sitting at the front of a que at a red light when i hear a siren behind me and lots of horns tooting... I'm in the middle lane of a 3-lane junction and I can't see any flashing blue lights so I don't know who I need to make space for. Anyway, I take a chance and creep through the red light slightly to make a little space and a few seconds late a dark green Saab sprints out the junction with one of those pathetic magnetic glow-worms on it's roof.... barely visible at all, let alone in a line of cars.

These things are damn-right dangerous in busy traffic because nobody can see where they are coming from and where they need to move away from.

If an emergency vehicle needs to get through traffic quickly, then surely it need to be VISIBLE. It's another case of sacrificing the emergency response service to enable a bit more revenue taking from 'speeders'.

Fecking authorities. No common sense!
