New insurance groups?
Discussion
Browsing Parkers and I notice there seems to be a new categorisation of insurance groups. My Golf was a 13 but now it's listed as a 27. The Focus was a 9, now listed as 18.
MX5 was (a day or two ago) listed as 11, now showing as 22
Have a missed something? Does somebody know what's up with this?
I've searched but nothing 2comes up, so apologies in advance if this is a pearoast.

As above, I think the new system was introduced because there was too much variance in group-20. So basically "ordinary" cars have been scaled up x2, and group 20 spread out over the top 10 of the new groups. Or something like that.
That would certainly be consistent with my findings. Off to check what category an Impreza WRX STI now sits in...Edited by kambites on Saturday 23 October 18:53

The Elise has gone from 20 to 44 I think.
