07 Plate Chassis Number.

Went to have a look at a decent specced/priced Focus this weekend. All the HPI/Log Book/MOT/Supporting paperwork checks out etc...
The only thing that did warrant any concern was the chassis number by the drivers footwell. In my Fiesta it's just a stamped straight into the metal. However on the Focus it was covered in what looked like filler (but wasn't), with a smooth finish and flush with floor plan. I appreciate that it isn't a very good description and should've got a picture but I don't have anything to compare it to.
Is that normal?

If I was you I'd ring my local ford dealer and ask the service department.
As far as I'm aware it should be stamped straight onto the metal.
The chassis number in the window relates to the service book and everything?
Might be an idea to contact the selling dealer to confirm vehicle model colour etc....

Yup all the chassis numbers match up. The one in the window looks untampered with. It would appear to stamped in the metal but just the area is in this buff type neutral colour. Where as my fiesta one is the same colour at the car. As far as I'm aware it should be stamped straight onto the metal.

I think i'll give the supplying dealer a call to check their records.
Everything thing online confirms the car to be what it is but that wouldn't stop it being a ringer would it...
