Maserati Quattroporte gets MC Sport Line Trim

Maser's pretty saloon gets a motorsport-oriented tweak

Maserati has unveiled an MC Sport Line of its Quattroporte sports saloon.

Intended as a kind of 'M Sport' package to give Maseratis more of a motorsport flavour, MC Sport Line makeovers have already been applied to the GranTurismo and GranTurismo S coupes.

The MC Sport Line Quattroporte uses the GT S as a base model, but gains various extra bits and bobs courtesy of the works Maserati Corse (from whence 'MC') racing department.

The main cosmetic addition is a subtle body kit that includes front and rear spoiler made of carbon fibre.

In the cabin, there are oodles of carbon fibre in lieu of wood (the dash, front and rear centre consoles, the gear knob, switch surrounds, shift paddles and parts of the door panels have all turned carbon), while other go-faster tweaks include MC Sport Line logos on the door sills (worth a good half second per track day lap), and an 'MC' embossed on the brake pedal.

There are no tweaks to the engine, however - Maserati clearly reckons that the car's 4.7-litre V8 and 433bhp ought to be enough for most owners (and we're inclined to agree).

I'll take one, looks nice and isn't too garish. Does it come in yellow?

Yet another lovely addition to the range, but shouldn't there be a new Quattroporte soon? It is getting on a bit now...

Bit of an odd twist on a theme isn't it? i'm no real lover of the cabin for the money in truth.

There is something very special about the qp. If I ever when the lotto then my nearest massa dealer would get some of my lotto cash.

The pedals and foot rest are hideous. Completely out of sync with the rest of the car imo.

You can get every QP in yellow (what's it called Giallo Modena or something?).

Most desirable saloon on the planet!

So if I ask nicely enough, for a Giallo Modena QP-MC edition... you think they'll make mine a manual? I don't want paddles... they're for boats...

That's stunning, but I can't help thinking they should've added a few extra ponies to firmly put the other "super-saloons" firmly in their place. Especially with the Panamerde making 500hp, this sounds a bit weak by comparison.

Not sure the styling tweaks to the front end have improved the look to be honest. It seems to look "bluff" comparatively speaking with how it looked prior. I still wouldn't say no though!

What a machine, the most desirable sports saloon out there, how can you not just love the madness of it?

Think they did in the last one,the guy he puts in the boot of the DBS and gets chased by the 159s. Think there was one parked outside that stunning house on the lake(Garda?).
Love QP's but think the MaxPower look a trifle sudden!

Quattroporte has been my dream car since it came out even if the 1st ones were cr@p...just can't beat a massive 4 door sports saloon IMO. A neighbour has a black GTS and its gorgous even if the interior doesn't look that special. Doesn't help being in cream I think. Best would be dark red or dark tan....

One of these at a black late 90s shamal and I'm done.....!!
