As above, anyone kind enough to recommend me some?

I have been looking at these ones, the only thing I can fault, is the price....

£280 for a set of headphones yikes This is on par with £70 for a baby bag.

More money than sense with some people.

I somewhat agree with your comment.

However, if I listen to Music everyday and these headphones get good use, I really don't see the problem!

I know, 280 is a fortune.

I only spent 180 on mine.

Ive got a set of these - but i didnt pay for them, i got them through the company as a test item.
They are very nice, but probably not worth £280 of my own money.

Senheiser are worth a look.

+1 prefer to Bose every time... I've got B&O, Sennheiser x3 (in ear, noise cancel + cheapos). The sennheiser I find best bang for buck out of all those I've tried.

Ask most recording or sound engineers and they'll recommend Audio Technica. Superb kit and not that well known to the general public but very much rated by those in the know!

Sennheisers all day long.

Bose and B&O are brands with little substance.

Ok, i admit it, i have a pair of Bose ones the OP linked to. I got them whilst in the US a few years ago, and paid slightly less than the advertised price.

I can say that I travel for work a lot, and having used them weekly for around a year on flights (mix of european short haul and trans atlantic) I would say they were worth every penny. I really appreciate them when I take them off (more for noise cancel ability, but they still sound pretty good too!)

Would I buy them again, definately if I was travelling. If not, and I did not want the noice cancel functions, then I would spend my money on something more dedicated to sound quality.

I like my Grados

But Sennheiser & Audio-Technica both have a good heritage and some excellent products. (Probably be comfier too).

If you want a pair of enclosed headphones

Then Beyer DT 100's are hard to beat.

Studio/production industry standard, not exactly overpriced, all components available as spare parts,
available in various impedences to suit sources etc.

As someone who lives on planes, I agree on the Bose. Long life rechargeable batteries, comfortable, and surprisingly high quality sound. The white noise is wonderful when you are seated within vicinity of a screaming baby .
