Sealant for clutch master cover plate?

Chaps, is there a quick, easy, ready to use to sealant for the clutch master cylinder cover plate?

In the past people said to use Sikaflex same as the headlamp fairings but frankly it's only a once a year job and I want something that I can nip round to Halfords/Homebase and buy. Now that bathroom/kitchen sealants come in handy aerosol dispensers I was wondering if there is something black like that I could use? In the past I think I used some stuff in a tube but it was messy, so I just thought there may be a better way.

Fair enough, since posting this I've found you can buy small tubes of Loctite black flexible sealant for £1.99 on eBay so that'll do the trick and at that price doesn't matter if it goes hard in the tube.
