Met up with "flying" from on here at the weekend and was very interested to see some stainless steel covers he had had made up to replace the black covers on the rear glass of his T350, couple of pics to show how they looked.Personally I think it makes the rear look a lot smarter than the original black plastic versions and is much more in keeping with the rest of the detailing on the car.
At £60 for 10 covers (2 spares just in case) I didnt think they were bad value either

Not too sure about the stainless steel tbh.

The black ones go well because there is black trim on the T cars (black around the windows and headlights)

Do you have a pic a bit further out, do we can see the whole window?

G, I was going to contact you later as I was worried I had not seen you posting for a while.

I agree with you - aluminium and anodise

Hi Paul,

Just too busy!

I will make a few spare sets of aluminium tailgate fixing covers, get them black anodised during winter.

Road grit & salting started in the Moorlands last Tuesday!
I have decided to preserve the polished aluminium this year and take the Sag off the road; not sure if I will do any Winter projects this year.

Hi All

Just an update really. I have done the design etc but am really busy at work and with the family at present so will be lucky if I can sort these before xmas.

Without giving to much away, mine replace the bolts and covers with the covers screwing on so no sticking required. Also the top covers will be in either Stainless or Black anodised Aluminium.

Will keep you posted.

Cheers. Lee.

P.S. I have also had to stop doing the steering wheel bolts at the minute as I don't have enough time!

I had assumed that part of the reason for the covers being stuck on was to prevent moisture getting into the threaded parts, so without giving too much away how will yours stop this problem.

I am sure flying will be along at some point to post up a better picture for those that are interested and to answer the question of black anodised ones for those who want to tetain the original look.

Have to say that it is good to see that various members of the PH community are coming up with parts to help keep our Tivs on the road, looking better or running better.

Hi Guys

Just to update you on the covers I can get them done in black although they will cost an extra £10 due to having to have them anodised also my minimum order is 10 sets of each so if anyone is interested either start a list or contact me through my profile I can have them within about two weeks.

Me too... But I have a question: I know that there were 2 styles of the plastic hatch bolt covers; are these alloy ones suitable to replace both types? FWIW, mine are the earlier ones which are just black plastic screw covers like you can buy from any DIY shop rather than the later hemi-spherical type.

I'm not fussed about the colour: either black or silver is fine for me.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi guys just to update you on the progress of the hatch bolt covers they have been ordered in black only at this point in time a few have been produced but at the mo these are pre production. One is being sent to me over the next couple of days as they want me to check the internal dimensions for fit as evidently this has proved slightly harder to machine than they first thought but should not be to much longer. Ten sets will be available and so far there was a take up for four so if anyone else is interested drop me a line through my profile.

I've received the bolt covers, thanks for that.

What did you use to remove the old covers from the bolts?
