following a career change and no longer having a company car, I had a think about what to buy. My mileage with the new job is going to be low (4k/year), and couldn't see myself driving a cheap hatch with no toys....

so thoughts turned towards an older vehicle, then browsing a few websites the idea of a W124 coupe started to take shape.

So..after a good look at a few examples, here is my new ride

I can't believe how nice it is to waft along in - beats a mundane old hatchback any day for style, just a few little bits to sort out to make in perfect.

Here's looking forward to merc ownership

cheers - Tb

That looks very nice! Invest £10 in a pair of new outer ARB bushes - they make a big difference

Cheers Nick - it was your site that finally convinced me that a W124 was the way to go.

ARB bushes are on the list, as well as checking the lower balljoints asap

also need to check the OVP relay as the ABS light occasionally comes on, and the OVP is one possible culprit I believe.

Great looking car and so much fun to drive: the balance of handling and ride quality beats most any new car, these w124s will really hitch up their skirts when pressed but the rest of the time are sublimely comfortable. I would prefer it with the standard orange indicators.

Nice buy, a Sportline by the looks of it. Mine was a Sportline, makes a big difference over standard suspension. Enjoy it!
