Chemical Engineering Placement

Im currently studying chemical engineering at the University Of Teesside in Year 2, on for a 2.1 degree according to lecturers based on results achieved so far. Just wondered if anyone knew of any placement positions available relating to the degree as i want to increase my industrial experience. This would be from June 2011 and preferably in the north east of england.

Do you know what sector you ideally want to work in when you graduate? e.g. oil and gas, pharma, water etc.
Have you tried the big contractors in the industry as many of them offer industrial placements? PM if you need more info

Sorry about the late reply, the oil and gas sector is what i would like to be a part of as i find it alot more interesting and see myself there when graduated more than the pharmaceutical, water sectors etc.
