I read on here a while back that there would be no 997 turbo. Then I read last night in autocar (few weeks old) that they would be doing the whole range in 997 guise. All 22 varients.

Anyone know the true story?

I read it would be 997 + 996t for a while and then phase out the 996t in favour of 997t

That's how I read it too. I have also heard that the 998 isn't too far away and that the turbo would only appear on that model.

I know with the 996 launch they continued to sell the 993tt.

Both ! Porsche will do what they usually do and launch base variant first and drip feed in the more specialised models over time. They will continue to offer the 996 Turbo until the 997 replacement is ready.

I heard on Rennlist that there would be no 997Turbo/GT2/3 and when the 998 was released the Turbos would be offered under the 998tt/gt2/gt3 labels.

Intriguing stuff

The plot thickens.

They certainly did and I was very nearly bamboozled accordingly in a moment of hyper slippery sales grease.

I gave it very serious consideration, right up to the point where Hair Gel McSporran informed me of the asking wedge.

At £30k over list I decided on the restitution of my subscriptions to the planet's finer pornographic publications for several years (not including Razzle or Rustler, I hasten to add).

I seem to remember reading somewhere that "As long as there is Ferrari there will be a 911 Turbo"

Do Porsche know something about the Fast Fiat Co. that we don't???
