Always loved these when they were current and been offered a 1 owner car with sub 70,000 on the clock, full service history for a little over £3,000 - seriously tempted by it but don't know a lot about them - I just love the look
My buddy has one, think he is looking to sell it, they look a bit like a mk1 1 supra/delorian/something else. |The go well and from what he says, it has been reliable. Think they are difficult for parts tho, and selling them on.I have owned an SVX now for about a year, there is a very good forum which will give you all the info you could ever want its USA based with a European section. They are fantastic cars but not without their faults if you go to the Midlands Pistonheads meet for September at Gosford you can see some of the cars. You can get parts from the States easily once you have sorted the model, they do go cheap because if the gearbox goes they are very expensive to fix. Mine was an import from Japan which has a slightly better box than the U.K. as far as performance is concerned. The U.K. based owner group are a really nice bunch of people.

The SVX is a boxer 6 version of the 22b engine so I've been told, I know a number of people have put a Legacy box in them, in the South here when we had the sudden snow and ice last year my SVX was about the only thing moving despite my fitting Toyo T1R's that I have on my RX7 it was just unstoppable regardless of snow packed hills etc really made me glad I'd bought one of the 'must have cars' I have on my list. I should also mention that you can do enormous journeys in it without discomfort, recently I drove from Portsmouth to Stockton on Tees to survey a building and got out the other end as if I'd poppped down the shops. People always ask you about it when you park and whats more you have a car that looks different to most others on the road.
Parts aren't that hard once you figured out which USA model they relate to, I recently bought some front end suspension parts at a quater of the UK price plus the extra cost of shipping from the States of course but still a reasonable price. I don't think they are a car to run on a tight budget though, but they really are sure footed in wet weather and always seem to attract attention
Don't know quoite where to post this, but as it's quite unusual I thought hewre would be a good start.

If dare to be different, buy one.Im off to snetterton tomorrow with mine(my 19th trackday) and have owned it over 5 years.Jap import, now manual(transmission went on about 15th trackday).I agree they should go quicker, but putting a s/s exhaust and changing the air filter helps.you can change the ECU as I have, now good for 275bhp.It goes well with nitrous as its n/a.Parts always come up on e-bay,have quite a few myself.Electric areials and PaS pumps are like golddust. So go buy some spock ears and join the club.My car is in my profile garage
