Pre 2008 SLK 350?

Black, AMG body kit, red leather - I think it's a great looking car, but what do you guys think? Can a man actually own a non-AMG SLK and is it any good to drive anyway?

Or is a 3.0si Z4, S2000 or 350Z roadster a better bet? I would include a Boxster but ownership might be a tad on the more expensive side?

I think I've only ever driven one with sports suspension (apparently without it, it's rather under-damped), but personally I think it's a good match for the Z4, and more than a match for the 350Z and S2000 (although considerably more expensive than the latter two for a car of the same age). It even has a decent manual gearbox, if you can actually find one with a manual 'box.

I couldn't comment on the image though, I'm afraid I'm not that shallow.

That's what makes the Z such a good used buy, though I do like the mini GT nature of the SLK [maybe even with the 7G-tronic gearbox?] and that might be worth the extra dosh?
