I need to get some new front tyres. The rears are Vredestein Ultrac Cento, which have been OK and was going to put the same on the front, but they are proving hard to find as the manufacturer doesn't have any.

Anyone have any recommendations for alternatives that aren't going to be too dissimilar? The car is a daily driver, so I'm not looking to put super soft track tyres on it, and have some semblance of grip in the wet.

Bridgestone Turanza ER300 or Potenza RE050A. Latter is factory fit on the newer MX5.

Shall watch this thread closely. Same size as the rears on my ZR that need replacing!

Toyo T1-R and Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 are the de facto choices for the '5.

EVO tyre test was done using this sort of tyre on an MX5 so is probably a good place to start: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2010-EVO-Tyre...

In short:

Overall
1. Continental Contisportcontact 3
2. Uniroyal Rainsport 2
3. Vredstein Ultrac Cento
4. Bridgestone RE050A
5. Michelin Pilot Exalto
6. Yokohama Advan Neova AD08
7. Kumho Ecsta KU39
8. Hankook Ventus K12 EVO
9. Zeetex HP103

I would personaly opt for potenza expensive's on the front and some half bald/remould/part worns on the back. Grip is boring.
