This is nuts. And they say 280 should be no problem!

I know Jeff Schwartz hit 211 in the standing mile in his GTR, is that the GTR record?

The 2nd fastest car, Lamborghini Gallardo (251mph) sounds better imho smile

Although sadly, this Gallardo wrecked just this past Saturday:

Driver was ok. Lambo, no so much.

Glad he was OK but I don't think I would do this kind of event if you need a shut to stop before the end of the track.. Sooner use my brakes....

That Ford was silly fast, be fun pitting him against a Bugatti....

In the 1 mile? Veyron would not stand a chance. This is a heavily modified GT though, so it would only be fair to heavily modify the Veyron too. I've never heard of anyone doing that though smile

The GT owner claims the car will do 300 given the room. Is that even possible with 1900 HP and aerodynamics involved?

The original GT40 was a very low drag car, that's why with only 375bhp from a 5L engine at le Mans in 1968 it could still break over 220mph....

Does anyone know what HP it has ??

The GT that did 266.9 in the 1 mile? 1900HP I think.

It looks like there is some heated debate about the legitimacy of this run frown

I guess we'll see what happens in March 2011 at the Texas mile. Any GTR's showing up? Jeff?

Yes Ultima won't be beating that, but just curious if anyone is going, Jeff has been to one mile runs before.
