my rear shocks are standard koni ones im tryin to take them out but the locknuts ontop will not come undone they are turning the whole top of the shocks ive tryed put wait on it by jacking it up ive tryed holding the tops with mole grips any ideas plz help asap

no experience of this particular problem, but ive always found pipe grips (the ones with jaws at a right angle to handle, with slot to adjust width) better than mole grips to grip anything round.

I've had similar problems with other parts of the suspension - I've always got around it by getting some weight onto the suspension using a jack as you mentioned. From memory, I think my rear shocks have a square section at the end of the thread to allow you to hold the thread firm with a spanner / grips.

yer thats the same as mini but they still turn with grips and its chewing the end up its so compressed its actualy lifted the car off jacks im now thinkin bout cutting them off

You have to use 2 spanners on them - think its a 13mm on the main nut and a really ickle one on the end of the shock. thats how i did it anyway.

yay done it with a hammer wd40 swearing and 17mm spanner and mole grips got gaz shocks on it now yay
