Hi all...

I think I know the answer to this before I ask it, but does anyone know of a Race ECU that is for sale? I have asked JR and he has none, but there must have been some 40 or so produced for the serise, so where are they now??

Any help appreciated.

I don't have a Tuscan Race ECU but I do have a Cerbera 4.5 gold MBE ECU which I'm fairly sure is the same thing, albeit the unlocked version. I was going to keep hold of it but make me an offer if you're interested...

The road car ECU is not compatible with the race car loom - the plugs are different.

I'm afraid I don't know if you can use a road ECU on the race engines, or whether if so you could transplant a road car female plug onto a race car loom....

Hi Andy.

You are quite right, the road and race ECU's are not interchangable and are quite different. The easest solution for me is if I can find a race ECU.

Surely with a pin-out diag from a Cerb it would be fairly easy to make a new plug though wouldn't it? I heard a while back that you can still get the male plugs brand new so you could just cut off the race plug and stick a road one on - granted its a bit of a ballache but if you can't find a race ECU then the option is there...

probably better to get a road car engine loom to go with the road car ecu. then sell the race car loom.

The race loom for the ECU is just that, an ECU loom including the relay panel wiring. It interfaces with the race engine loom via a separate plug. You'd be embarking on a big job swapping looms ....

I'd want it confirmed that the road car ECU was safe to use on the race engine before I started chopping any looms....

I have an emrauld ECU mated to the road cerbera loom no problem on my ajp took me a day to adapt the bits i needed (easy peasy for an electrical engineer). So yes it can be done but i did have an adaptor plug with the emrauld ECU.
