My Helicopter Instructor Rob is there awaiting how much he's going to get for his Hiller chopper which was in the Bond film 'Goldfinger' (Pussy Galore was flying it to drop the bomb on Fort Knox).Fingers crossed it makes a fortune smile

Sounds like a bargain compared to the new cost of a R or Cinque. Surprised factory didn't buy it back to protect values.

That would be the guy you can see in this video (as well as some shots of the car and the auction):

And here's some pics of his new toy too:

While we're at it; a video of the auction for the Bond DB5 that reached a measly £2.6m:

So the F40 only went for £282,500
and the Enzo £575,000

right for those sort of prices I'm sure a few people here might be interested

anyway what was the story with the Superfast - why did no one want it?

Guy in the Baseball cap looks like Fred Durst? No?

Seems cheap at £700k odd? Surely an appreciating supercar?

Is it physically impossible to make these road legal?

£322k and £656 with buyer's premium - sounds about right these days.

Neither of those gentlemen, but a very good way of stopping people (paparazzi etc) from getting clear shots.

And there's the rub. Add in buyer's commission, VAT on some lots at a minimum of 5% and you can see that the prices were all toppy!

Surely you'd whip it off once you'd bought and not hang around for the rest of the lots if you were worried about that? Yeaggy (who bought the Bond DB5) had his buddy, George Hamilton (the 4th) with him...I guess he's now so old that no one would recognise him in any case!

The Zonda R leaves me at a loss for words. There are many cars I like and admire but none inspire unadulterated desire like this one.

There has to be some way of getting this road legal. Entirely pointless I know, but just having the option to take a break from the track and go for a quick sprint would be priceless. The youtube clip of it taking a naughty road excursion is brilliant. Illegal, but brilliant.

Top marks to the buyer.

It was a very nice car indeed. It's bang in the middle of retail money.

There were several "benchmark" cars there - the DB4 that went for £250k, the F40 at £310k, the Enzo at £650k, the Daytona at £140k (all rough prices including 12% buyer's commission and VAT on that...)

Nothing really "damaged" the market and conversely, anyone sitting on any David Brown car must be a very happy chap indeed!!!!! The prices for any Aston there were mega...and that even rubbed off on the Towns cars too which fetched top dollar as well.

That Zonda R was an absolute bargain, even once you had added the VAT and buyers premium you would still have paid lest than a million. Also it was brand new. The fact is the factory sells them at 1.4 million euro's plus taxes. Oh I wish I was in the position to buy that car.

Does anyone know if you need a team of mechanics to run that car at a track day or could you do it with a mate and a decent transporter?

Also does anyone know what the ex Rod Stewart Miura went for?
