..not as silly as it may initially seem wink as I was just cruising eBay and liked the look of it and it only cost a few pounds smile

I am not in to watches as such, but I want something not run of the mill, or overly flashy smile

I have googled Wittnauer, and I know that since this is a 1975 it must have been made during the period Longines owned the co, but I do not know anything else about the watch itself.

I am hoping that someone here may know the model or even perhaps point me in the direction of a site where people could help me...even a jewellers that might be knowledgeable about such timepieces would be handy! I am in the north east smile

thanks smile

edited to add link as I can't work out how to save the photo paperbag

interesting stuff.. smile

I can't help wondering why on earth no one else bid on it and it went for just under £40 if it's basically a longines by another name.. I've also just found that the vendor is advertising it on another ebay listing, so now I am fretting a little.

here (courtesy of BR's link) it is:

i own a few wittnauers, gruens and bulovas circa 1930s - 40s.
Quality movements, amazing accuracy even after many years service. they used to be quite cheap on fley bay but they are getting very collectable thus the prices are starting to rise.
