We took the kids down to the New Forest yesterday, (cracking day), but we went to see some ponies… The kids absolutely loved these...

I absolutely loved these…

The Meridian Modena showroom in the centre of Lyndhurst is a cracking Centrepiece to the High Street. Every town should have one. Just superb to have cars like this parked with full access by the public.

Love it.

I agree! I prefer the donkeys myself...always had a soft spot for Eeyore as a kid...
With regards to Lyndhurst, I often go out of my way to drive past the showroom and have a nosy, definitely the best 'high street shop' around! Where I get my car serviced (Brystone BMW) is also the location of Meridian's service centre - you often get them testing up and down the industrial estate. Sticking to the speed limit of course...biggrin

We had a wander around Lymington, we came in on the A337, and followed the roads towards the Marinas, came along Bath Rd is it? Then back up into the town...

Looking around the Forest, I bet there's some lovely photo opportunities in there. I Wonder if it'd be possible for one of the 'Serious' local photographers to arrange a Pistonheads Performance Car Photo shoot with a dozen cars or so? (Just thinking aloud really)...

I'd come along with my camera, but I'm no serious photographer. Just a hobby. I have some pictures of your car actually, here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/51802421@N08/sets/721...

There were a couple of roads that pushed out into the Forest Moors from the A337 at Setley that looked like they could be good for some interesting shots... With the RallyWreck, the thought of some of the rutted ste runs to the car parks looked favourable for a bit of naughty muddiness too.

C5 - you joke, but I once came back to my VX220 to find a horse with it's two front legs up on my bonnet licking the water off the bonnet and windscreen. It was hot so the horse wanted a drink presumably and my car still had morning dew on it due to the amount of wax that was on the car.

I tried shoving it and it wouldn't move! I even started the engine and sounding the horn and it wouldn't move. Eventually pulled it off with brute force! Didn't leave any serious damage surprisingly.

I always remember going into the Forest for a picnic with my parents when I was a nipper and coming back to find a horse licking the bumper on my Dads Triumph, most odd.

If you want damage though cows are hard to beat. A friend of mine was out in a works van and they stopped for a scive in the forest, they nipped off to get an ice cream. When they got back to the van there was a cow leaning against it, as they got nearer the cow noted their arrival turned its head, mooed at them and meandered gracefully off back to the grassy plains. The van was pretty much a write-off. Much fun ensued explaining to the boss how that happened.
