Respraying a cerb
Discussion
Does anyone know what it costs to respray a Cerbera, and any recommendations on where to have it done
Im about to buy a second hand 4.5, one that Im looking at seems to be well sorted mechanically, but is not a colour Im keen on. Rather than pick one in a colour I really like (and accept Im likely to have to spend a few bob getting it sorted - Im considering doing it the other way round, but have no idea on prices for this - can anyone help?
Thinking of a black/red respray (black with a red laquer on top)
Also, when did TVR start fitting the more durable clutches to the Cerbs - was it 98 or later?
Cheers
Steve

I got quoted around £3k for a respray to a different colour. And that's based on standard metallic/pearlescent paint; trick jobs cost more. Check out www.rage-extreme.com for some nice paint options and prices per litre.
I was given the following price recently:
Between £3000.00 and £3300.00 including vat for a standard TVR colour. More for a reflex colour.

Same colour is much easier 'cos there's probably loads of bits that won't quite get resprayed... inside of engine bay, around all the boot/door seals, etc. etc. Taking it all apart so that everything can be done a different colour takes much longer. Or that's what I was told when I asked about it last summer, anyway - I'm no expert on paintwork.Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
