wet feet!!!?????

evening all,
bit of a weired one if you ask me but....
On my Mk1 when the car is wet or after heavy rain, upon accleration i sometimes get water coming from somewhere above the accerator peddal that is soaking the tops of my shoes/socks. Does anyone have any remides to this (other than wearing wellies

Dont know if this will help but..
I had an owner here some time ago with water on the drivers side, and it turned out to be that the tack weld that held one of the ralay brackets behind the dash had worked loose,and was in the rain run,s/steel bolt and two rubber washers and all was well.
Not saying that this is the problem,and have never hit that one again.

Have you checked that the rain run is clear on either side and not backing up?
The easist way,is to get someone to run an hose pipe in the area while you are in the car with a torch behind the dash to find it,and its not the biggest of places to get into to,remove the seat to make it easier.
