This my my first post in this forum but I've enjoyed reading it for quite a while. Anyway, I thought I would put it out there and ask for people's opinions on this watch:

It's the Jaeger Le Coultre Chronograph 1758421. Personally, I really like it.

Lovely. Fabulous watch from one of the finest, if not the finest, manufactures around. My favourite brand.

One of these (although I do see so many I like I'd be happy with many of the JLC range!)-

Master Moon.

Master Hometime.

Stunning.

Of the 'affordable' JLCs I rather fancy this: click.

You'd be a mug to choose the Daytona IMO.
Yes the JLC will lose more money, but they have better movements, a date and look stunning.
It's an easy choice for me. smile

If you are looking for an understated, beautifully made watch that few people will recognise, the JLC Master range has a number from which to chose.

My honest opinion on that particular watch is that it's too big and rather heavy looking. JLC have made some stunningly elegant watches but the Master Compressor and AMVOX designs are not among them.

I agree, that's certainly not the nicest watch that JLC make, but I do think it is one of their nicest chronos. However, I'm not really convinced that the chronograph in general is a JLC strong point. I particularly like the original Hometime, pictured a few posts above, and the Reverso is fab.

I also rather like my Master Date:

Really like that, although when I saw one in the flesh for the first time I couldn't help but notice how mahoosive it is. Those things are simply HUGE!

You really do need fat, hairy wrists to get away with wearing one. Or drive a Lamborghini...hehe

That is a lovely watch. Is the month displayed in the window partially obscured by the minute hand? Also what are the two pips either side of the crown? I did try to look it up on the JLC site but couldn't find the exact model.

Yes, thats right: it shows day, date and month, very similar to the Master Moon LukeBird posted above but without the moonphase.

Thats not a terribly good picture when it comes to showing the actual features of the warch I'm afraid. This is a better one (though not so arty):

The "pips" are recessed buttons for adjusting the month and the date. You won't find it on the JLC webiste as its long since discontinued, rather a shame I feel.

I hate you tertius, that is lovely! thumbup

I don't think I've seen you post a picture of any of your watches and I haven't thought "Wow!"!
A stunning collection! smile

I also much prefer the older Master Hometime. The newer version is not nearly as elegant.

Indeed, I love the Master Calendar/Date/Moon series watches as being shown in some of these pictures, they are 37mm and a Master Date will be my next watch. I also have a 1990s Master Chronograph which is slightly smaller and which I rather like.

You are too kind ... beer

I have a new arrival actually that I need to photograph and post up. Won't be today though, as the battery in the Elise has finally given up the ghost, and I need to go find a new one somewhere.

That Master Chronograph is also very nice indeed, is that one with a mecaquartz movement?

No worries chap, as I said it's a lovely collection.
Can't wait to see the new acquisition!

Is that an IWC movement, or is it a JLC movement that was used in other watches?
I had a look at a gorgeous IWC that had a mecaquartz, I presume it's the same movement as they're a touch on the rare side!
That and a Hummer (which I already have) are two movements I need in my collection! smile
