Andy Holmes (Redgrave's Olympic partner) dead early 50s
Discussion
Not sure if I have missed us discussing somewhere else, but I caught this in the paper yesterday, I think he died earlier in the week.
Almost no mention of this and the chap alongside Redgrave and Jurgen the German laid the foundations of the successful British sqaud we have today. Once out of the spotlight he was an extremely modest man to the extent that his daughter I believe did not know her father was an Olypmic champion until she found his medals rooting around! He simply said that he didnt tell her as it was so long ago he didnt think she would be interested...
A proper old school bloke.
