I've seen the site for Levens in the past but can't get through to their web-site now! I'm looking at upgrading the interior of my chimeara, it's got black dial surrounds, buttons, hand brake etc, want to go stainless.

Is there another company out there that maybe produces the same?

Responces welcome.

Nacnud,

Do you know of any other sites/companies who do a similar service?

I'm looking at up grading my dash from black plastic switches and knobs etc to stainless ones.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Duncan.

Does anyone have the chrome air vents on the dash.

I like the look of them, but could imagine that they would drive me man reflecting in the windscreen.

Can anyone confirm?

I have the ally air vents and haven't had any problems with reflections. They have a brushed finish so not as bad as polished chrome.... and look better against the magnolia hide! Might be different if you've a dark dash and then they'd stand out more. You could always try placing something shiny over the existing vents (e.g. reverse/dull side of baking foil)... would let you see what you could expect... just an idea!

I have the old black ring dials too (1993) but I can't see that either Leven or Zertec do the alloy dial rings ?

Is this right and they're just not available ?

Does anyone make an aluminium surround for the stereo, you know, to replace the black plastic trim?

Speedy Cables in London (01992 581600) specialise in converting and repairing all kinds of gauges and they can modify the TVR gauge for about 10 pounds, fitting them with either Chrome or brushed alloy bezels.

bazza ... isn't the black placcy just the front of the stereo unit itself?

It is all part of the stereo itself - I changed mine for a flashy silver one and it looks amazing!!

ATG and Hugh, no it's not the stereo itself, let me try to explain.

When you install the stereo the unit clips into a retaining cage. This leaves an unsightly edge, so supplied is a facia that clips over this. Then you push on the Radio facia it's self, so when you look at the radio, you see th facia, then a surround, then the wallnut dash. (make sence? quite difficult to explain)

makes good sense. Diffferent to mine. On mine there is no surround, just the cage and the stereo. The front of the stereo is slightly wider and taller than the cage, so that it covers the edges of the hole without having an extra piece as a surround. Your arrangement sounds better, coz unless my cage is in exactly the right position, there can be an unsightly gap down the side of the stereo.
