They may go to names/letters for the whole range, like RCZ. They won't call the 308 replacement 309, because they already made a 309.

They've had the _0_ number system since the late 20's/early 30's (according to wrongipedia so may not be true...)

So, names or letters? The vans have names anyway, and their concepts have letters. Hmmm.

Surely they don't make 100 models of car?
(or 1000 if you include x00x numbers)

Actually I can see them making a 'retro' 309 as a premium-compact MINI rival.

Technically the 309 was a rebadged Talbot Arizona.

As Peugoet already had the 305 in their range at the time, they just made a number up.

I can't understand why they don't just continue. They've shown they don't have a problem with four-figure numbers on their cars, so why not 1010, 2010, 3010, 4010 etc?

Surely they will just go *00* in future like the 1007 or 4007?

Or just change to names as Renault did.

309 GTi 16.

Awesome car. Why they never sold it in the UK, I don't know.

New Peugeots are crap however. Why can't they make stuff like that pictured above?

why not just keep the numbers, audi manage to keep a4 going for years bmw the same.
if they made a properly decent one a rebirth of the 306 could be a great marketing tool and boost for them.

As I understand, the RCZ is a turning point. Look gorgeous too, especially that Zagato-style 'double-bubble' roof that extends into the rear glass.
