I was going to get one of these fitted to LuckyP's X8 GTR to get over the carb cold start horrors - however, flogged the car before I got around to it.

My engine builder says that whilst on a standard engine there is not much benefit, on a tuned V8 he reckons they are seriously desirable.

The upshot is that the product is brilliant!!! The engine starts instantaneously and just purrrrrrs out the garage... 90 degrees on the gauge biggrinbiggrin

Just thought this may be of particular interest to folk with carbs

How much are these days ? They've been around for ages so should be well sorted.
Where did you position the mains connector ?

I can't recall how much it was - must mean it was cheap! 350 quid I think......

The mains plug is just inside the side scoop - no mesh. For ease of use a domestic timer set an hour before take off works a treat.

I didn't go with the off-car type as I didn't fancy my luck with the dry break connectors.

The heater brings the water temp up to about 80/85 and its 90 when you are out the driveway
