Info on kerbed alloys please
Discussion
Hi
I have a couple of scuffs on my alloys which Id like smartened up
Ive been Googling and the going rate for a recommended job seems to be about 50 quid a corner for a refurb
Theres no mention of what a refurb actually is on the sites Ive found from the companies but it sounds a bigger job than tarting up some minor blemishes
Or is it the case that even after a simple mark is made good then the whole rim needs to be laquered or something?
Many thanks
Refurbs are carried out every way from a local spray of a small area, both paint and lacquer - to a full strip back to bare alloy followed by wet sprayed or dry powder new coating, or turning or polishing on a lathe. There are advantages and disadvantages to every option, including finish match and consistency, time, cost, logistics.
Best to ask your local repairers exactly what process they'd be using - and if they can offer different options, why.
