Washing the car

if i read right somewhere that if you over do it with the water it can get into the car footwell ? How do you wash a noble and what do you have to avoid ?

i just use water, havnt had any problems with it

Wash it normally!

Just don't fire the water at the plastic vents located above each side of the rear screen, otherwise its just as you would normally.

Water can get into the footwell if the panels under the car are not sealed - a common problem. The water can get in by running down the windscreen, down the front of the bulkhead and through any gaps in the panels into the footwell. You will know you have a problem pretty quickly with only a small amount of water running down the bulkhead.

I picked the car up on friday , and drove it for two hours, it really drove well .

It had just been washed and when i got back i was just cleaning the footwells a bit and i noticed a bit of damp on the carpet floor of both foot wells . I called the owner and he said he had never had a problem with this and he suggests that it was probably from washing the car ? The car had an inspection by Kerridges before i bought it and they told me the rivets to the floor had all been corrosion protected in the last service and the floor was ok.

I'm just wondering if it could be a blocked Air Con drain pipe where i once read that they can get blocked ( I did use the aircon for about an hour on the motorway ) I will wait to see if it dries out but i would like to know how and where do i find the air con drain hose to check if it is blocked ?

I've had this.
Two things caused mine. The heater hose behind the panel in the passenger footwell had deteriorated at the joint to the heater box.
Remove the jubilee clips, cut a small piece of the feed pipe back and reconnect. This worked for a year, then it came back.
The second time it was the floor. Very difficult/impossible to see on inspection but the floor sealant deteriorates. You will need to get under the car, remove the mid section and front panels, clean and reapply with some silkaflex and new stainless 4mm screws.

It's a days work to do it right.
Do the tunnel mod at the same time.
