Starting/Fuel Issue?

Sounds like it would be worth plugging a laptop into the ECU to see what is going on, software to run it can be found online, this will tell you if it is fueling correctly, i would susspect it is running very rich so could be a throttlepot issue, not too hard to diagnose, hopefully.

Definitely sounds like a sensor issue to me, I'd recommend the ECU software too.

Yea, just standard serial to serial will do. Unless of course you're laptop doesn't have a serial port, in which case serial-usb, or get a usb-serial adapter.

For the software to work you need to have the ignition on and the immobiliser dis-armed.

If you have the USB-serial port connector, you need to set something in the laptop differently, I am not sure, COM1 pos??

Which version of Windows are you running? Have you set the USB port to be Comms port (1, 2, etc).

You don't need the resistors, they are only needed if you are mapping the car and writing to the ECU.

I recall finding two versions of the software. One would connect one would not. Does yours have a picture of a yellow cerbera on it?
