LS7 oil pressure switch

Any idea where i can get a new oil pressure switch. The one I have is an old design and so does not fit the wiring loom connector.

Hi!

On the LS Engines you have over the Oil Filter normally a cap which cover the small oil cicuit.
You drill there a hole on the cap and fit a line to the Top of the engine.
You need to put the Oil pressure sensor away from the heaters, incase of high temperature and everyone knows that sensors dont like high temp.

I had the same problem. You need to order the older switch (pre 2009) I think
Here is a pic showing the part number for both types.

Try a Chevrolet (or any GM) dealer. You may pay a bit more but they usually have these kinds of parts available in short order.

Now you have a GM part number you may be able to get it, or a pattern part, from any motor factor.

did you get your engine from GM Partsworld? If so tell them to send you the correct sensor to go with the loom they supplied?
If you sourced the loom yourself i can get you the sensor in around a week if that helps.

Yes I did get the engine and loom from parts world but gave up and bought the loom (and all the difficult bits that actually fit) from AS. I sent them (parts world) an e-mail about returning bits and ordering the engine fuel rail covers but they have as usual forgotten to return the e-mail. They are the most interesting company to deal with!!!

I ordered from the US so have all the bits- aim is to start the engine in thenext few weeks.
