Spot the difference with this old powder coat...

After many days of scrubbing I have finally got all the under seal & waxoyl off, surprising what you find underneath.

One of these is original 1998 & the other was replaced some time around late 2000:


Are those little triangular coilover spacers normal on the front?

The rest of the chassis has benefited from all my waxoyl over the years:



this is the only bit of the out rigger that was too close to the body to get any waxoyl on that needs fixing - anyone know what type of tube it is?

I'll replace the body mounting plates while I'm there too.


The rest of the bad bits are places you just cant get to with the body on so I'm glad I'm doing it now...



It's still thick enough here at the gear box mounts, but I wouldn't like it to have gone much more!

I'd say you've timed it just right - once water starts going inside that outrigger hole and can't get out it can't be long till the outriggers are totally shot.

I'd get the chassis shotblasted, only £100 or so including wishbones etc.

The holes weren't there till I attacked them with a chisel, but they wouldn't have been too long coming on their own.
£100 eh I wonder if I can find somewhere that cheap down south, was going to do it all my self, you may have just saved me a lot of time there, thanks!

Great thanks for all the replies, I've already got a big compressor just been looking at the blasting attachments to do it my self, not too much it seems. Just have to make my mind up now...

Thanks Ridds I found what those bits were old thread looks like there were few GTs in the end then!
