Boot won't shut!!
Discussion
Hi All,
Recently bought my first Griff after years of hankering for one.
Upon leaving the petrol station I noticed that the majority of gauges had stopped working. Found that a fuse had blown (No 9) which was replaced and all seemed good!. Noticed the boot was open and tried to shut it but it won't lock, what I realised is that the boot release button was caught under the dash.
I've done some research on here and think it's one of the relays (No5) that needs changing, the relay is getting really hot. Is this the best place to start, or should I be looking elsewhere as a starting point.
Many Thanks,
Bob

If the button was stuck in the relay will be red hot,, make sure the buttons out on the dash, Then with the boot lid open use something round like a screw drive push the lock catch closed. If it lock as shouls push the button on dash to make sure its releasing, Again making sure the button on dash dont get stuck in,, If this all works now try and close the lid again if its not catching the catch enough, Adjust the u shaped adjuster a few mill longer at a time ,, done undo it loads because the boot will rattle,,, easy job should only take 5 minutes max,, dont think you have a expensive problem... Maplin for the solenoid BobGriff.
You will have to either transplant the connector off your old unit onto the new one, or put new connectors on the car wiring to suit the new unit - which is what I did because I bought a spare solenoid to take with me on my travels.

Sorted now guys, had to replace the solenoid and the relay as both were duff, carpets all stuck back in place and ready to go, solenoid was cheap (maplins) however the relay was a little more expensive (ford).
Thanks for all your assistance, sure i'll be back for more help at some stage!!
