I really must live some sort of boring life as I notice that the average Pistonheader comes across so much in his normal life. Take this guy for example....

Just spoken to my mate who has just got back from the police station after being arrested for taking a picture of a Muslim woman wearing a fancy black robe type outfit. He made no comments to her, just took one single picture and walked on minding his own business.

She complained to the police who were close by, they shouted him down, caught up with him, told him to delete the picture off his phone and not to take any further pictures. He challenged them asking what authority do they haev to stop him taking pictures in a public place etc, they threatened him with breach of the peace and many other silly laws, they argued with my mate for a few minutes, he was polite for the whole encounter, they then ended up arresting him.

Now, my question is, since when did it become illegal to take a picture of someone/something/a person!?

Hello all, hope everyone is ok.

My mate last night got charged with dangerous driving. Why you ask?

He was driving down a NSL road in the sticks. He hit (and killed) a poor deer and this broke his front bumper and radiator meaning he couldn't continue. He was doing around 60 when the impact happened so his airbags also went off. Whilst waiting for the recovery to appear, the BiB turned up.

They questioned him for a few minutes and then concluded from their discussion that he had been driving dangerously and arrested him for the offence

My question to you all is..how can they charge him for dangerous driving when there were no people hurt, no witnesses and he was doing 60ish in a 60?

Thanks for any help

To set the scene, after watching this video:

A few weeks ago, I have made sure I never eat Halal meat again, as I enjoy my meat and I do not deem it fair that the animal has to go through unfair suffering bleeding to death for a few minutes, I would not wish that upon anyone or animal.

I wasn't in my home town and went to a Subway for lunch around an hour ago. I politely asked if it was Halal meat, when I was told yes, I simply said "can I have some normal meat instead please?" not only was I shocked that there was no warnings but I was then accused of being a racist and told to leave the shop. I actually feel like writing a complaint letter to Subway that this branch deems it fit to sell meat that is barbarically slaughtered under an old barbaric and disgusting Islamic tradition to unsuspecting members of the public.

I actually am disgusted at what has just happened!

Hello all,

I was travelling on the M6 southbound with my friend last night, who I consider to be a very competent driver. It was around 11pm when we set off and we were driving at a constant speed of 80 leptops on the speedo, around 72 leptops according to the GPS. He set the cruise control in his M3. Whilst on our journey, we of course, even at such a time at night, came across the usual blithering idiots who don't know to keep left unless overtaking.

My mate, without touching the accelerator, kept going from lane 1-lane 3, then back to lane 1 to overtake these blithering fools plodding along in their own world. We had been doing this for some time, when we noticed a car behind was doing exactly the same. However, as my friend was driving to the conditions, speed limit and doing everything legally, we thought nothing of it.

After being followed for some time, the blues and twos came on. Here we go...

I'm not going to type the whole conversation out, however it went along the lines of:

BiB - why are you weaving? been drinking? is this your car? where have you been? can we search the car?

We were nothing but polite back, and explained that of course we had not been drinking as we were driving and were just following correct lane discipline. The traffic cop breathalised my mate, no problems there. He then went on to lecture my mate saying that you must overtake (he should have said undertake) these MLM's in lane 1, rather than going to lane 3 then back to lane 1 as it is more risky. This is when he said he was reporting my mate for driving without due care and atteention. My mate challenged this, as surely by changing lanes it proves that he was driving with care and attention.

Thoughts please? My mate is going absolutely mad, and quite rightfully so I'd say, he did nothing wrong at all!

Hello all

For the last week or so at our work place, the temperature has been very cold. So cold infact we are keeping our gloves, coats and scarves on. This does not interfere with our work or customers as we are office based and do not see customers.

The senior management are telling us to take our outside wear off or else we will face disciplinary action, can they do this? And on what grounds? Someone I work with is on a final warning for not hitting sales targets, meaning that if he makes one mistake he can be sacked just like that. This may sound stupid, but can they sack him for wearing his coat and gloves when he is cold?

We have complained about the temperature and they have repeatedly said there is nothing wrong, however it is only the senior management that seem to think the temperature is upto scratch.

Can anyone offer any advise, are we legally obliged to take our coats off in an office job where what we wear has no effect on the job or the customer?

Thanks

Hello all

My sister attempted her driving test this morning. Upon doing so, (she is female after all hehe) she exited a dual carriageway and entered a 40 zone, still doing 60. The instructor/examiner immediately jumped in and said he was a) failing her on the test for dangerous driving and b) was reporting her to the police for speeding.

Now I think this is very harsh as she has just shown me the road where she failed and it was not dangerous to do 60 there, infact it used to be a 60 zone. And b) how can the examiner report her for speeding, wouldn't it just be word against word?

Thanks

Are people allowed to block a parking space with traffic cones in order to stop you from parking there, and thus gauranteeing a spot upon their arrival back home?

I had to pop into work for a few minutes and there is a road by my work that i park down. I saw a guy get in his car and drive off this morning. Great I thought to myself, whack the Type R there, pop into work for a min, job done. However, as i was waiting for him to fully leave his space, he got out of his car, opened his boot and then proceded to stick two traffic cones in the gap where his car was so that no one could park there.

I waited for him to drive off then I moved the cones onto the pavement and took the space.

Upon my return, the cones were on the roof of my car, however no other damage.

It is a normal road, just a space outside someones house. The parking was not blocking anything or causing any obstuctions. I am 99% that the cone person is the same person that put the cones onto my car, so I may have to take a visit to his later.

Thoughts?
So much excitement & incident in such a short period, just wondered if anyone else has so much fun going on? I really must meet up with Ry_B sometime he obviously leads an incredible life smile

Clearly PH Typical (RyB)loke is a bit full of st.

But you do seem a bit boring, too.

PS, his mistake in the last scenario was to not just put the cones in his own boot.
