I am in the unusual position of needing to purchase a luxury saloon (not a usual subject here I know!!).
I will drive it most of the time, so good performance is important, but occasionally will be chauffered, therefore must have 4 doors and decent comfortable space in the rear.
Prefer not to get anything more than 3 years old and with as low miles as possible on a budget of £50k.
So far the Masarati Quattroporte seems to tick most of the boxes, but I'm sure you guys out there will many other ideas?

Best keep this for posterity then?I will drive it most of the time, so good performance is important, but occasionally will be chauffered, therefore must have 4 doors and decent comfortable space in the rear.

Fabulous car. So much subtlety clothing so much oomph.I think I'd be forced to go for a V12 Benz though if I'm honest... http://pistonheads.com/sales/2098107.htm for example.

I'm afraid I fall in the motormouth....sorry.... Jeremy Clarkson camp with Lexus but it hits the green buttons (yawn) I suppose - not sure how much of a drivers car it is though.
or something ugly?

I don't want to have to park two streets away so as not to be seen getting in or out of it! Don't know whats happened to Porsche - such great cars but so damned ugly in my opinion - Cayenne & Panamera that is.http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2209333.htm

OP - If it was 80+ being chauffered, the bentley without doubt! If you're spending more time driving than sitting in the back, an S8! Both utterly fabulous!!

Can't stand wood inserts/trim in interiors on modern cars; however the Masser would be my top choice for the OP's criteria; followed closely by that Arange Trade Seller: Jct 600 Brooklands Maserati
4 Doors, Automatic, Saloon, Petrol, 22,500 miles, Grigio Granito, Beige, 4244 cc, CD Changer. £44,995
