I need a new duvet for my 3 year old son.

I brought a feather (duck and goose) 10.5 tog from argos and i have just returned it as the pockets the feather were in were too large and it meant there were several "bald" spots over his body and therefore it wouldnt be warm.

His current duvet is a cheap synthetic one and the reason i need to replace is the stuffing has gone all funny.

I know nothing of duvet fillings. I need really a 12/13 tog for the cold nights.

Can anyone recomend one?

John Lewis have a good selection and if you go into a store they have all of them with "samples" so you can feel the weight etc.

I bought this 10.5 tog for my 7 year old son recently (but paid nearer the full price for it!). It's light but warm and doesn't "clump" like feather and down.

I went to debenhams expecting them to have samples to have a grope but alas no. Neither did BHS.

But thanks Whirligig that link duvet looks pretty impressive. I hadnt come across a microfibre one before.

Microfibre/polyester are the cheapest - about £10 in The Range etc. Just a piece of loft insualtion really smile

There's no quilting so no thin bits; however it doesn't snuggle round your shoulders as well as feather/down.

NB: I take it you've seen the Rhod Gilbert sketch about buying a quilt?

I dont think a 11 tog is probably what you need for a 3 year old.
