Green alarm light on middle dash keeps flashing on alarm on

Hi everyone

I wired up my new stereo today and all happy and working, till the alarm arms itself, and then the green round LED mounted beneath the kill switch keeps flashing when the alarm is primed.

I'm guessing this is the alarm getting upset about some of the wiring but I can't think of anything that might be causing this...

The only wiring that I did that was slightly guess work was to connect the RED wire attached to the aerial socket, to the Aerial + on the stereo (thinking that the Cerbera internal aerial might need some power to make it work).

Any suggestions much appreciated as he's in his downstairs garage lair and I think the neighbours will get pretty p*d off if the alarm kicks in or keeps going off [nothing yet!]

Just a quick update to my own post but it would appear this is an error with the central locking not being able to lock?

Mine flashes when it is locked. Is it just flashing or is it really not locking?

The process of mine is (*and I believe they all have wondeful party quirks!)

- shut drivers door
- window goes up

Red flashing light engages

Wait 10 seconds odd

- window shuts firm shut (you hear a slight extra push)
- door locks deadlock (you hear the bolts locking)

Red flashing light continues

Green flashing light starts

I think this might not be normal behaviour and is possible because one of the doors is sending an incorrect response.

Ho hum - probably not my stereo wiring then - but will take it out over the weekend to check!...

Mine is pretty much the same except that the green light normaly flashes rather than is constant. It does the same thing if you use the button to deadlock the doors when you are in the car. I always assumed that was how it was meant to work, but as you say - it's a TVR so it could be any/all of the above

The green light can flash at two speeds. It's only when it's flashing at around 4 times a second there is a fault, I think.

Did you disconnect the battery when fitting the hifi, as this is when mine stopped working and the green led starting flashing really fast. All appeared to work IE windows up alarm set blady bla, but when you tried to open the door it did followed by the alrm going off. you can try disconnecting/reconnecting the door/window black box in the boot, but this didn't work for me. Be carefull as 2 of the 4 plugs can fit back in the wrong socket. They are both the same size/keyed.

I also tried battery on/off with windows down/up, doors open/closed, ashtray open closed (the last was more out of desperation ) Any way, before I got around to really looking at the problem it just cleared for no reason many weeks later. I suspect it might have been one of the reed relays in the door/window mec causing the problem but will never know....hopefully!

I didn't connect the battery ('cause I'm wild like that...) doing the install however did replace the battery a few months ago and hadn't noticed the flashing then. I'd say it's running at about twice the speed of the red flashing light within the center pod, so maybe at about twice a second.

Maybe it should do this and in my 18 months of ownership I've just never noticed....!?
