Looking for a cheap/strong road bike

Evening all,

I am looking to add to the fleet (of one), I'm quite interested in getting a road bike - something cheap for me to play with.

I have no issues with buying 2nd hand. Would prefer to stay below £300.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

loads to choose from, depends on what you really want. should be able to find a dawes audax or something if you want a touring bias, or there are a billion specialized allez around. the back of cycling weekly is your best bet.
