I fancy a new toy and I'm quite tempted by one of these http://www.luminoxuk.com/shop/luminox-lu3053-men-s...

I'm taking it for what it is, cheap and cheerful so I'm not expecting to be bowled over, but any thoughts on alternatives?

(urge brought on by watching Burn Notice and fancying a Chase Durer but not being able to find anywhere selling them)

I have the Type 3 and Navigator T6 on http://www.h3-watches.co.uk/products-page.htm. Love them - you can tell the time all night.

I cant say this firmly enough, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO dont do it, i got one and its pants, face easily scratches, paint on the bezel rubs off, hands dont line up propperly and setting the time is a nightmare because there is so much play in the hands when you try set the time.

stE.

Agreed with the bezel but the rest not sure. Sounds like you have a dodgy movement in yours. Both of mine are firm when adjusting the time. Could be completely down to luck, mind. I have a handful of quartz watches and 30% of them have this over-sensitive hands issue.

I've got one of these on a £3 black nato strap.

Agree about the white markings coming off the bezel but other than that the watch has been fine. Excellent for telling the time in the dark.

I'd check out the net to see what prices are achievable though. Don't remember paying £195 for it.

Liking the photos of the type 3, but how does it look and feel? I fear it may be a tad small...

Yes, it is fairly small - 37mm diameter according to the site. Small and light.

I've had a 'Navy Seals' 3001 for nearly a year now. It's a good beater as being plastic and small it's so light that I can't feel it on my wrist, it's tough and as mentioned the Tritium lume is very handy.

I've not had any problems at all with the quality, it seems to be really well put together.

ETA I'd buy a Traser next time though as I think they're marginally better looking

I have to say my Luminox has been great. I've taken it on around 40 dives and it hasn't missed a beat or shown any sign of damage. It isn't used everyday but I can't see it having problems. Funnily enough my Seiko Monster which has taken over diving duties and been taken on 10 dives so far has already shown signs of damage on the bezel.
