They don't really serve any purpose on a TVR. It was a mod for Range Rovers in cold climates as I recall.
They were disconnected on my old 450i.........

But connected on my old Chimp......

Made no real difference that I could feel, both cars were awesome. biggrin

Do you mean the throttle body heater as described above, or the two steel pipes that exit at the rear of the engine, under the plenum? You can link the TB heater no problem; the steel pipes are part of the heater circuit, you could probably link them without too many problems, but if they're leaking (which they often do) then you may have fun.
Some RV8 versions didn't use them, the large alloy boss underneath isn't drilled (the other is linked via a short rubber pipe to the thermostat housing or water pump, I forget which, but it wasn't fitted).
The biggest hassle is getting the threaded one to unscrew from the boss: I've dicked myself a couple of times trying it. Must have been one hell of a sealant... plus quarter of a century of corrosion.
My car had a pin-prick leak in one of the steel pipes, about an inch from the end, so I just sawed the rusty bit off and refitted the hose with a proper pipe crimp... whistle
