I know exactly what you mean. Very annoying at night on single carriageway NSL.

I know what you mean. I find it much easier to see in the dark just by munching on raw carrots.

Yes, they all have aftermarket HID kits fitted...... even those Range Rovers must have them.

Highly, highly illegal - worse than rape or murder and they can even go to prison for it, honestly!

Hi

The trick is to close one eye for a moment as they pass in order to retain some night vision. If you are lucky enough to have a main beam reflector not designed for them then putting in some 50w HID's for the return blast should work well.

I've noticed that a lot of drivers with their fog lights on are elderly. Is their a difference between Xenons and HIDs?

It's usually down to people putting HID kits into headlights that aren't designed to, ie relfector headlights rather than projector

No not really although the description of xeno is more slang/marketing than an accurate description.

That's not exactly true or correct.

There have been several production cars using reflector lenses and HID's as factory spec. And equally there are plenty of what I suspect are factory stock vehicles with HID's in the correct legal headlights that still cause far more glare.

Not a fan of xenons at all (even though my car has got them - they're not something I'd have paid for). OK, they're brighter and improve definition but at the expense of people going the other way. However I'd still say that they aren't necessary - I don't recall ever having problems driving down dark country roads back in 1985 in my Fiesta with 55/50W bulbs. It's stupid.

And while I'm on about it - you can always spot the tosspots in their Saxos etc with the aftermarket HIDs - they have them on all the time even on a sunny day. wkers.

It's mostly due to people adjusting them so they're angled very high. You'll probably notice more people behind you, whose headlights illuminate the headlining of your car, even when they're quite close.

'If I put the headlights shining up there, I can see more!'

Yea, and it's blinding the piss out of me, thanks.

They are, self leveling working fine and beam adjusted for its last MOT so it is spot on. Xenon lights are quite bright but you shouldn't have any glare issues if you have good night vision and a clean windscreen inside and out.

This implies it wasn't perfect before the previous MOT. Why are you 100% sure it doesn't need adjusting again?

It was fine before though I asked them to check it when it was last in the garage and they claimed they made a small adjustment, though it was legal in both instances.
