Very basic video editing software

Hi

Before anyone jumps down my throat for not "searching", I'm afraid I don't know very much about this at all so I don't know if my camera and PC are limiting factors or not in my choice of software.

Basically, I want some really basic software for editing headcam footage. Headcam is a GoPro Hero (standard, not HD), and my computer is a PC (not Mac) and is old and slow. What I'd like is to be able to shoot film, get rid of the bit at the beginning where someone else is staring at the camera saying "yep, it's on", add a title/credits, and perhaps some music. Oh, and it if was free, that would be great.

Is there anything that will work with my kit and give me some basic results?

I've not used it much, but I suggest trying Windows Movie Maker. It's probably already on your computer.

Guess you're using XP, in which case you'll likely need to install some codecs for the GoPro videos. Windows Movie Maker is free and pretty basic, but the latest versions need Vista/7.
