Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has bought a new car recently and the levels of discount available? I've specced up a 535d to £56k, looking to chop in my 335d for it. If I remember correctly the 335d was £44k list price and I did a deal around £37k. Bit hazy now as its a few years back.

Anyone bought a 5er recently, and got a good deal?

If you buy a car at quarter or year end you'll get a better deal and also if it's a physical car rather than one built to your spec. The most I have got off a built to spec car was 10%...that wasn't a quarter or year end though. I think from what I have read elsewhere that is about what margin dealers have to play with. I do have a very good relationship with that dealer though.

No idea on the F10....what is the wait like for a new one built to spec ?

Have you asked someone like Braodspeed ? I asked them when I was looking for my wife's car. I didn't buy from them because they couldn't source the car I wanted but they were very helpful in telling me which models/specs I could get a discount on.

I haven't bothered with Broadspeed etc, I generally think there will be a dealer out there who can do a better deal as long as you can find them. Might give them a call though, I was kinda hoping on more than 10% off!

I doubt it. They domnt have to give those kind of discounts on F10's as most would have sold their allocation. There are not a lot of stock cars or build slots out there and people are trying to beat the VAT rise. You should get 5% but you will be doing well to get more.

Fair enough. I'm in no rush, so will wait until the 'newness' of them has rubbed off and try and get a decent deal.

Same - itching to buy a 'nearly new' one but the price of something tasty (535i for example) isn't budging much + there's very little about at the moment, especially in white.

Will hang off a while and snap up a bargain again hopefully.

I was at my local dealer today speccing a 5, average discount was stated at 5% "but I can do you a deal sir" I would imagine I'm looking at 7%? will try for 8%.

They are selling well at the moment and from the amount of them I've started to see on the road he wasn't bullsting either.
