2000 BMW 318ise Central Locking Problem

Hi all
New to PH do be easy on me, iv looked from afar for a while but now need some help!!
Iv just purchased a 00 BMW 318iSE, but I have a major problem with the central locking, it unlocks the drivers door with the key, but no other doors open. The fob unlocks the boot and turns the alarm off, but i just cannot get the other 3 doors open. Also the elec windows dont work, just hear the switch kicking in but no action.
Can anyone suggest anything before i make the, probably expensive, trip to my local BMW Dealership (Halliwell), my much trusted local garage has been unable to help.
